Finds: Make Some Maps With Me!
I stumbled across this amazing site called Skillshare a week or so ago, and it took me all of three seconds to sign up for two classes.
The first class, taught by the amazing Anne Ditmeyer of Pret-a-Voyager (another favourite blog of mine!), is all about how to make maps. I have a pretty cool idea for a present for Pete for our wedding day, and this class is going to be perfect.
I can’t believe the class only costs $20! Such a bargain.
I’m crossing my fingers I can make something as beautiful as the hand drawn maps Anne has been collecting.
If you want to join me in this fun, two week, cheap as chips class – sign up here and let me know so we can connect.
And if you just want some amazing hand drawn map porn, check out the artists I’ve featured in this post:
1. San Fransisco by Marisa Seguin
2. St Lucia by Laura Bird
3. New York by Jenni Sparks
See you in class!

Great post, Rachael! Looking forward to seeing how you translate your style into a map
See you in class!
I’m taking the class as well! I think Skllshare is such a great idea that allows us to learn and connect with people from all over the world. Excited to begin!
It’s going to be fun – love your blog and looking forward to seeing what you make!
These are amazing! What a fun idea to create a map class for such a cheap price. I hope you enjoy! I can’t way to see what you come up with.
[...] lovely are these hand-drawn maps? I’m a sucker for maps of all kinds – maybe these will inspire me to embroider a map [...]
