Things are a little bit slow here at the moment.
We’ve been sick. Time has become filled with hospitals, tears and a whole lot of frustration.
But we’ve still noticed some pretty things along the way. Like these little pops of colour on a walk the other day.
And we hope to be better soon.

There is a new friend in our house.
He is little. And fluffy. And he runs around a bit crazy.
You can check out some more pics of him here.

I live in a beautiful city.
But sometimes I dream of a life in a place some ways away.
Where our home is made of bricks instead of wood.
And where the sunshine sometimes shows another season or two.
Brisbane? Melbourne? Or maybe even here?
You can sneak a peek at more snaps of places we sometimes wished we lived over at this place too.

I stumbled across the amazing work of Liz Tamanaha a while ago via her blog Paisley Press.
Liz creates journal pages for digital scrapbooking (I use to be a scrap-a-holic back in the day), and I love her beautiful minimalist designs.
This page was a freebie she very generously uploaded at her Ozscraps shop and there is even a “How To” file included so novice Photoshoppers need not fear!
You could use this design to create a page in a photo book or on your personal blog.
You can purchase her scrap templates, press cards and other goodies here.
PS. Clare and I took these photos on a trip to the park last year. How cute is my little niece!

When I heard the distant tiny drone of an old fashioned plane, I couldn’t help but look up.
And there, way above the clouds he was flying.
If only he could have seen the magical view from where I was.
I wonder what he was thinking about all the way up there, free as a bird, while tied firmly to the ground I snapped a shot of his little plane so far away.
For more clouds and pretty views, join in the fun of our weekly happy snaps here or here.

I am clearly a huge fan of the depth of field filter on Instagram.
One part of falling in love with my Nikon D700 was having the ability to use focus in ways I had never used it before. And here, with this nifty little blob button on my favourite Iphone photography App, I can cheat a little and create that effect.
Of course it will never look as amazing as lovely as this, but it’s lots of fun to use!
These happy snaps were taken on my recent trip to pretty Melbourne town. I had a window seat and the whole row to myself so I happily snapped away without worrying people thought I was a little crazy. The clouds were breathtaking – little puffs of white happiness. And the farming landscapes below were just like a patchwork quilt.

I went to visit these lovely people in Melbourne last weekend.
Aside from having the best time ever with my some of my oldest friends, I finally was able to meet their absolutely gorgeous little cat called Pony.
She was a very obliging portrait sitter and a super sweet darling of a feline friend.
You can catch some more Pony snaps here.

Instagram is just about the best invention for the phone. Ever.
So we thought this year we would celebrate our happy snaps by posting them up here on the blog in a little weekly diptych of sorts.
It’s been a rainy old week this week, so when the sun came out on Friday I just had to get snapping!
We’d love to be your friend and see your happy snaps too.

On every corner of Paris there is a beautiful building, a beautiful bakery or a beautiful person.
Or a beautiful carnival ride or two!
Paris takes “Sunday afternoon strolling” to a whole new level.

I’m a little bit addicted to my phone.
You know how it is.
Especially when Pete is taking photos of buildings for ages (we were standing right across from Notre Dame here and in my defense I had spent a lot of hours looking at it!).
A beautiful night in Paris. Even with the interruptions from technology!
