For years we have been traveling across town to a really good fruit and vege shop. But it just wasn’t the same as having local markets.
We were pretty over the moon then when the Jan Powers Farmers’ Markets set up camp a few weeks ago just a stones throw from our house! I had been a devotee of these Farmers’ Markets all the years I lived on the river at New Farm.
This morning, like I imagine we will most Sunday mornings from now on, we stepped on over to Stone’s Corner and enjoyed a blissful spring day shopping for our favourite healthy eats.
There is something pretty lovely about bunting, vegies, fresh juice, the cacophany of fish and meat vendors vying for everyone’s attention, locally made chocolate, freshly cut flowers and super cute dogs snuffling away between everyone’s feet.
We’re sorry really good fruit and vege shop – but we may not be back for a while (well, until winter at least).
