The Simple Things: Lemonade
A good friend of mine once told me that squeezing a lemon into a glass of hot water each morning would make you feel so much better for your day.
I was thinking this morning that maybe it’s not so much the lemons themselves that make you feel better, it just might be the ritual. The pause in your busy morning to wait for the water to warm. The juice stinging your hands (I seem to live with paper cuts!). The staring out the window while you drink it down slowly.
I’d love to add some sugar but the bittersweet taste always makes me think of a homemade lemonade stand. And that makes me smile too.
I adore the ACME Party Box Company’s logo – “Party. Rinse. Repeat”. Their eco-friendly party supplies would be perfect for a little lemonade stand. Lisa and Cathy, tired of seeing so much trash at the end of kids’ parties, set out to develop a product range of party decor that parents could use again and again. They’ve nailed it and these girls are a beautiful example of living a more simple life.
I think they’d make great friends with Jen from Twinkleberry Toys who collects vintage toys (and these sweet tumblers I’d love to drink my lemon juice from!).
Love!

The Lemon ritual is so good the the cold and dark seasons just because of the bright colors! But drinking a cup of water each morning is a healthy thing for sure.
I totally agree Erika – we all need something to brighten up our mornings!
